Two of our lectures in the People and Design module have been delivered by Terry Irwin - in both she referred to the book, Earth in Mind which is at the top of my list to read (soon to be added to my DE collection). The synopsis for the book (on Amazon) notes that Orr "describes the problems of education from an ecological perspective, and challenges the "terrible simplifiers" who wish to substitute numbers for values. He follows with a presentation of principles for re-creating education in the broadest way possible, discussing topics such as biophilia, the disciplinary structure of knowledge, the architecture of educational buildings, and the idea of ecological intelligence."

Sounds like a great book! We're all gonna be fighting over it in the library, I think.
